Members of the Month: Karen & John
Hey y'all! We have lots of couples who come to CrossFit Bolster together. It only seems fitting to put them together, so meet Karen and John, our Bolster spotlight members of the month! Here's a little Q & A:
What's your day job?
Karen: System Safety Engineer
John: Pro Sales Specialist
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Karen: Read, cook, run, and hang out with John and our adorable dogs, Brewer and Bacon.
John: House projects, eating, sleeping, drinking bourbon and beers
What's your favorite junk food?
Karen: Reece's Peanut Butter Cups
John: Donuts and Reece's Peanut Butter Cups
What's your favorite healthy food?
John: Does steak count?
How long have you been doing CrossFit? How long have you been coming to Bolster?
Karen: I started doing CrossFit when I joined Bolster in July 2014.
John: Five months for both.
What's your favorite lift?
Karen & John: Deadlift
What's your favorite body weight movement?
Karen: Air squat
John: Box jump
What's the WORST CrossFit movement?
John: Wall balls
What's the best part of being a member of Bolster?
Karen: The best part of being a member of Bolster is the people. I look forward to getting to the box as often as possible so I can see everyone. It makes it really easy to want to workout when everyone is friendly, supportive, and encouraging.
John: Besides getting my ass kicked every day, it's nice that we've made friends in class.
What's the one thing you are most proud of accomplishing since you started CrossFitting?
Karen: The thing I'm most proud of is that I've finally committed to a regular workout routine. I generally make it to the box at least 4 times a week, which is way more than I was getting to the gym to lift.
John: Being committed and coming to class even when I'm not feeling well and sore as hell. "Success isn't owned, it's leased and rent is due everyday." I want to be the best version of me I can, and Crossfit is helping me get there.
