Member of the Month: Kristi H.
What's your day job?
Kristi: Dermatology resident
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Kristi: I enjoy anything social that involves friends and meeting new people. Some of my favorite activities include trying new breweries, restaurants, and watching OSU football. (GO BUCKS!) I also belong to a running group and a co-ed volleyball team, but I really only threw that in to sound semi-active. I really just like to drink beer and socialize.
What's your favorite junk food?
Kristi: Chocolate and beer are my paleo enemies
What's your favorite healthy food?
Kristi: I love a good salad topped with chicken, veggies and avocado. I know, I'm just as surprised as you are that I like something healthy!
How long have you been doing CrossFit? How long have you been coming to Bolster?
Kristi: I just completed my 5th month.
What's your favorite lift?
Kristi: I feel super cool cleaning, although I know I look super dumb.
What's your favorite body weight movement?
Kristi: Burpees. How is that possible? (Brad, don't get any ideas).
What's the WORST CrossFit movement?
Kristi: If you want to see me fall over, ask me to do a squat snatch.
What's the best part of being a member of Bolster?
Kristi: CFB has done more for me than I ever thought possible. Before joining, I felt incredibly unhappy with my personal and work life. I have been transplanted into Detroit for work, and I felt lonely and trapped with no light at the end of my tunnel. CFB has helped me to find happiness from within myself. Although my personal and work situation hasn't changed, my perspective has, and I'm the happiest and most confident I've ever been. Over these past few months, there hasn't been a day that's gone by that I haven't woken up happy to be alive, and incredibly grateful for the life that I lead. After all, what isn't there to be grateful for? Thank you Brad, Kate, and the people of CFB for helping me appreciate how wonderful life is.
What's the one thing you are most proud of accomplishing since you started CrossFitting?
Kristi: As stated above, I have finally found happiness from within myself, as opposed to seeking it elsewhere. There is no greater gift nor accomplishment than that!
